This month we hit a major milestone that has me feeling grateful, excited, and inspired. Laguna Beach Textile Co. was founded 5 years ago this month with the mission of bringing classic California beach style and premium resort quality to every beach and home—and we haven’t stopped working towards that goal since day one.
We wouldn’t have made it one day without the support and encouragement from you all. Whether you’ve been with us for 5 years and have a home decked out with LBTC pieces or 5 days and have just purchased your first item, you all are why I founded this company and why we’re celebrating 5 years now.
For those unfamiliar with the backstory, I spent summers as a cabana boy at a 5-star resort in Laguna Beach while in college. Years later, on a quest to find good beach towels for myself, I realized it was either hotel quality at a premium price or towels that shed, don’t dry, or were paper thin. And the idea was born—I wanted to create the best towels without the huge price tag.
We started with the classic cabana towel in Ocean Blue & Almond, which we sold out of in 19 days! Now, we have 60+ products including 8 different cabana options, Mexican blankets, Turkish towels, Microfiber travel towels, Supima cotton bath towels (a new product for us), round towels, picnic blankets, and yoga mat towels. 100,000 pieces in total have found homes around the world, and we’re so grateful for each and every one of them.
